Women's Expressive Arts Group
A THERAPY GROUP COMING TO DFW IN SEPTEMBER 2025

Join us for a 12 week therapy group that incorporates expressive arts!
This group will be centered on building self-esteem, self-compassion, and authentic connection with other women.
Next group: September 4 - November 20, 2025
Day/Time: Thursdays 6pm-8pm
Location: Lotus Counseling in Flowermound, TX
3605 Yucca Drive, Suite 202, Flower Mound, Texas 75028
Eligibility: Adults age 20+ This group is open to all who identify as women, inclusive of cis and trans women, as well as nonbinary people who feel connected to womanhood. Art experience not required. All members must attend a free, 30-minute pre-group consultation with the group co-leaders.
Cost: $80 per weekly session
This rate includes the cost of all art materials, which will be provided. Private pay only.
Length of Group: We will meet weekly for 12 weeks, starting September 4, 2025 and ending November 20, 2025.
Size: This is a closed group, meaning who we start with is who we finish with (no surprise additions along the way). The maximum size of the group would be 10 members.
How to start: Schedule a free 30-minute virtual consultation with the group facilitators. The consult is an opportunity to meet, learn more about the group, discuss what your hopes and expectations are, and see if it’s a good overall fit. Scheduling a pre-group consultation is not a commitment to join the group.

What to Expect:
Groups will typically start with a check-in. Group members will engage in an organic conversation by sharing what is going on for everyone that week. You are not required to share, and we keep it interactional versus sharing round robin style. However, if you are more of a wallflower, other members may get curious about you and start to ask questions. After this group discussion, we’ll do an expressive arts activity together based on themes or topics that show up for folks. Some art activities you may work individually and others may be collaborative. During the last 30 minutes, we’ll make time to process the experience together. Both Eryn and myself will be there each week as co-therapists. We will provide help with materials, facilitate the discussion, and draw out the themes that connect us. We will also maintain the emotional safe space of the group if interactions ever become adversarial.

About your group therapists:
Hi! I'm Kaylia (she/her). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience leading art groups at the Sante Center in Denton and in my own private practice in Austin. I was born in Berkeley, California and grew up mostly in north Texas. I went to UNT for undergrad and grad school.
I am so excited to be back in Denton after four years in Austin.
In my private practice, I specialize in existential concerns, such as identity exploration, navigating uncertainty, and meaning-making. I also work with anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and existential. I am an INFJ, enneagram 4wing5, Ravenclaw, Pisces if any of that interests you.
I enjoy working with more “fluid” media, including watercolors, oil pastels, and oil paints. For me, the most fun art materials are colorful, messy, and malleable. But don't worry, we will be working with all types of media in this group! Discover what you like and play around with new materials you never thought you'd try. Whether you're an artist or a novice, you won't be alone in this group. We're all in it together. The goal is not to make "good art" but to benefit from the process of creative expression. It is truly therapeutic. Can't wait to see you there!
Hi! I’m Eryn (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have led groups in various clinical settings, such as residential treatment, nonprofit agencies, and in group private practice. I work with folks across the lifespan, from age 3 and up! I went to the University of North Texas for my Bachelors and Masters degrees, and have made Denton my home ever since.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, experiential, and warm. I specialize in relational struggles, grief, and self-esteem concerns. I also have formal training in Child-Centered Play Therapy from the Center for Play Therapy!
I take a playful and relational outlook on therapy, and enjoy thinking outside the box. When I’m not connecting with clients, I enjoy reading fiction and fantasy novels, learning more about tarot, creating music and crafts, and spending time with my community!
I find myself drawn to a collage and found item art. I love nothing more than using things in my environment to process my experiences and cultivate meaning. I look forward to walking this journey with you all through creativity, community, and curiosity!
